“At first, it looked like an ordinary marble, but it was far from it. It’s what’s inside that will finally answer the long running question, ‘Are we alone in the universe?'”
“What do you plan on doing with it, professor?” Bolden, the administrator of NASA asked.
“Well, have you ever seen the movie, Jurassic Park?”
“You’ve lost your mind!”
“Think about it. We’ve been looking for life on Mars for decades. Now we finally have proof!” He holds the marble up to the light. Illuminated inside is a preserved, mosquito-like alien creature.
“And your idea is to clone them? We sent you up there for research, not to bring back an alien life form!”
Wilder, the astronaut who accompanied the professor on the research expedition, staggered backward, lowered himself into a chair. “So this is how the world ends.” He swallowed hard. “Not by fire, or water. Not by an alien invasion from the sky, but by one mad scientist’s cockamamie plan.”

The astronaut sounds like he understands the mistake about to be make. I wouldn’t want to see the thing cloned. Very creative story and well written. 🙂 — Suzanne
