I spend money recklessly. A starving artist once promised me dinner if I purchased his lizard sculpture for $205.
He never called.
I blamed it on my love handles protruding through my dress, so I spent $20 on Hydroxycut gummies from Walmart. After reading the label, I realized there were only enough gummies for five days, and the recommended use was eight weeks to lose an average of 16 pounds, which amounts to two pounds a week, which any idiot could lose by cutting 500 calories a day.
I’d feed them to the lizard, but I already see his ribs.

Friday Fictioneers is a weekly challenge where you must write a story in 100 words or less using the provided photo prompt as inspiration. Click the froggy icon to ready other stories and add your own.

This is the best of this week’s offerings IMHO. I just love the way you’ve crafted this: funny and sad in equal measure. Well done!

I love this, great story. She could stick these gummies to the lizard’s ribs, call it “Beauty”, sell it for twice the price and wear her love handles proudly. 🙂

You pulled together a lot of random bits & pieces into a nice little drabble…. Scrap art with words? Works for me. Well done.

Those definitely sound like another weight loss scam.
Great story and unique take on the prompt.

So many things to like in this story – the love handles, the hydroxycut gummies (What are they??) the starving artist. Layers upon layers. Well constructed.

Yeah, I’d say buying art for $205 in exchange for a dinner she could spend $50 on (if she really went all out) was not very bright. Well done.

Very nicely done. So much for my unique idea of someone getting ripped off on art. 😉
