“Are you laughing at me?” Joselyn asked.
“You’re not supposed to stick your nose all the way in them.” Aaron pushed her back a few inches. “There. Now smell.”
“How do I know I’m smelling these and not all the other flowers around us?” Joselyn asked.
Joselyn and Aaron were on a date at the botanical gardens where Aaron worked part time as a landscaper. They’d met in Biology 1100. The class had been studying the anatomy of a flower when, one day, Joselyn’s roommate skipped class, and Aaron slid into the empty seat next to her and placed an orchid on her desk.
“Flowers are like the sexual organs of plants,” Aaron continued, “so it’s almost like you’re raping it. See, in the center, how it looks like two balls?”
“Or a fat clit.”
“Nasty girl,” Aaron said, smiling. He leaned down and kissed her lips.
