Although I write both poetry and fiction, fiction has always been my first love. So it gives me great pleasure to announce that my first published short story, “Full Court Drama,” is appearing in the Winter Issue of Agave Magazine! Agave is a fairly new magazine. It’s been around for about two years and publishes amazing work. The photography and artwork published in this magazine is exceptional, and the literature isn’t too bad either 😉 .
“Full Court Drama” is a tragic story about a deteriorating old man suffering from dementia, told from the prospective of a young girl living in the projects. I initially wrote this story back in 2013, and I let it sit for a while before going back and editing—adding some things in, taking things out. Now it’s finally published, and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Hopefully, this is a sign of many more to come!
If you’d like to read “Full Court Drama” and other works published in Agave Magazine, it is available online here. The magazine also available in print. It’s a little on the pricey side, but based the quality of the work, it’s well worth it. By the way, my story is the very last one. Saved the best for last, perhaps? Kidding of course; they’re all great!
